New Feature – Restrict Access to Custom Form Data
LeadMaster has rolled out another new feature – custom form security. This is similar in concept to the last blog post about search filter access. By using the custom form security feature you can have multiple forms with different types of data and limit which users can see which forms.
Here are some examples:
1) You are a sales manager who sells products both direct and through channel partners. Some products are direct only and some products are direct and channel. You can provide your sales reps and partner reps access to the same account but only the account manager will be able to see the custom form that contains the information about the direct only products.
2) You are an HR manager and each department uses a different form – sales, marketing, R&D etc. By using this security feature the sales people can’t see the R&D form and the R&D people can’t see the marketing form.
3) You are in the business of selling data and you collect various information about businesses e.g. computers, telephone, copiers, etc. You can sell the copier data to the copier company and they won’t be able to see the computer or telephone data.
4) You have a veterinary practice with several doctors. Each doctor only sees one type of patient e.g. dogs, cats, etc. You can have all the patient info on a custom form and the dog doctors can’t see the cat doctor’s patients and vice versa.
To access this feature go to Administration / Custom Forms, click ‘Edit’ for the custom form you wish to modify. The dialog box above will show you your options 1) Make the form available to everyone 2) Remove access for everyone 3) Provide access to selected users.
